Adani Airports acquires a 23.5 per cent stake in MIAL for Rs 16.85 billion

Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises, has acquired a 23.5 per cent stake in Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) from ACSA Global and Bid Services Division (Mauritius), or Bidvest, for Rs 16.85 billion (about $231 million). In August 2020, AAHL announced the acquisition of a controlling stake in MIAL, following which it would also take on current owner GVK Airport Developers Limited’s debt. The firm will acquire a 74 per cent stake in MIAL, which includes a 50.5 per cent stake of the outgoing promoter GVK Group. The remaining 26 per cent in MIAL will be with the Airports Authority of India.
