Visakhapatnam port and Ranong port in Thailand have decided to form a JV in order to explore mutually beneficial business opportunities such as in coastal shipping. Earlier, the Port Authority of Thailand and the ports of Visakhapatnam, Kolkata and Chennai had signed separate MoUs to increase trade through cargo handling during the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation.
