The joint venture (JV) of Hindustan Construction Company Limited (HCC) and Tata Projects Limited has commenced work for package IN-05R under the Indore Metro Rail Phase I Project.
Package IN-05R involves design and construction of twin tunnel [up and down by shield tunnel boring machine (TBM)], cut and cover, cross-passages with/ without sump, ramps, seven underground stations (Indore Railway station, Rajwada, Chota Ganpati ,Bada Ganpati, Ramchandra Nagar ,BSF/ Kalani Nagar and Airport) including architectural finishing, plumbing (water supply, sanitary installation, drainage facilities and other plumbing work as directed by the engineer) works in entire underground section from chainage [(Ch) 5.862 to 14.482]. The Rs 21.91 billion contract was awarded to HCC-TPL in March 2025.
The project involves development of a metro rail transit system comprising ring line of length 31.55 km. It is being implemented by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited at an estimated cost of Rs 75 billion.
