As per the National Electronic Toll Collection data, the toll collection through FASTag on national and state highways increased by almost 20 per cent in the first three months of 2025-26, totalling about Rs 210 billion, as compared to Rs 172.80 billion during the same period in 2024-2025.
The revenue generated from NH users is approximately Rs 170 billion. More and more highway segments are now subject to tolling, and the user prices have been revised, which has resulted in an increase in toll collection.
It is anticipated that the current trend of increased toll collection will increase revenue for NHAI and other road-owning organisations. This increase will also rely on the number of private vehicle owners who choose to use the new Annual Toll Pass, which the centre recently announced and plans to launch in August 2025.
