MoU signed for new terminal building at Gorakhpur Airport

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Air Force, the Airports Authority of India (AAI), and the Gorakhpur district administration for a new terminal building at the Gorakhpur Airport in Uttar Pradesh.

The Air Force is expected to transfer more than 40 acres of land for the same.

The terminal is set to enhance the airport infrastructure and facilitate smoother operations and faster flight turnaround with additional space for aircraft. Post completion, the total passenger handling capacity would rise from 270 to 2,500 passengers per hour. Further, the number of daily flights handled would rise from the current 26 to around 200 flights.
