The Board of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) approved funds worth Rs 3 billion for the Ghaziabad-Jewar Airport Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Project under budget 2024-25. The project involves construction of 72.26 km long RapidX-cum-Metro system connecting Jewar Airport with Ghaziabad RRTS station through Greater Noida West, Surajpur and Pari Chowk. It will be implemented by National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). The cost of the project is likely to be borne by the state; the Union Government; and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YIEDA) with 50 per cent, 20 per cent and 30 per cent bearing each respectively.
