The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) has completed the safety inspection on a 5.39 km Mandale – Diamond Garden stretch under Mumbai Metro Phase I Line 2B Project (DN Nagar-Mankhurd-Mandale-Cheetah Nagar) and on a 4.4 km Dahisar – Kashigaon stretch under Mumbai Metro Phase III Line 9 Project [Dahisar-Mira Road-Bhayander and Andheri (East)- Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA)].
The inspections included overhead electric gear, signalling and communication systems, track geometry, and station facilities and also encompassed civil engineering features such as platform structures, emergency response systems, and passenger safety provisions.
The Line 9 Project involves development of a 13.58 km metro corridor connecting Dahisar to Mira Road and Bhayander and Andheri (E)-CSMIA in Maharashtra at an estimated cost of Rs 66.07 billion.
The Line 2B Project will connect DN Nagar, Andheri to Mandale and subsequently to Cheetah Nagar near Trombay in Maharashtra, spanning a length of 24.6 km.
