The Government of Uttar Pradesh has inaugurated the Gorakhpur Link Six-lane Expressway Project on June 20, 2025.
The project involved the construction of an 88.48 km long four-/ six-lane expressway from 1.3 km from Jaitpur Underpass at Gorakhpur Bypass (NH-27) and 3.7 km west from Gorakhpur-Mau intersection to 8.3 km east from Shahganj-Akbarpur Road (SH-5) at Purvanchal Expressway in the state. It also includes the construction of six major bridges along with interchanges at every national highway (NH), state highway (SH), and major district roads.
