The Government of Maharashtra has released funds worth Rs 527 million for land acquisition for the Kolhapur airport expansion project in Maharashtra. The project involves the extension of the runway with a blast pad, runway-end safety area, a taxiway, an apron, ground support equipment area and an isolation bay; construction of a new domestic terminal building; and construction of air traffic control tower-cum-technical block-cum-fire stations and other miscellaneous works at Kolhapur airport at an estimated cost of Rs 2.75 billion.
