Synergy Group to appear before NCLT for Jet Airways revival

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has asked the Synergy Group, the only potential suitor for Jet Airways, to appear before the bench to express its willingness to revive the grounded carrier. The MoCA and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation have also been made party to the case and their response with respect to the availability of slots has been sought. Reportedly, the Synergy Group, which is conducting due diligence on the grounded airline, had sought an extension till December 2019 for submitting its final bid for taking over the airline which has been extended by the Committee of Creditors (CoC) for Jet Airways to December 16, 2019. The group is currently seeking more clarity on the carrier’s slots at London’s Heathrow airport and India’s Mumbai and Delhi international airports that have been allocated to other airlines on a temporary basis.
