Jindal Steel commissions 12.5 mtpa cargo terminal at Paradip Port

Jindal Steel has commissioned the first phase of a dry bulk cargo terminal at Paradip Port in Odisha, through its subsidiary Jindal Paradip Port Limited (JPPL). The facility, with a capacity of 12.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), commenced commercial operations on October 15, 2026, ahead of its scheduled completion deadline.

The terminal is being developed at Paradip Port’s Western Dock under a build-operate-transfer agreement with Paradip Port Authority. The two-phase project will have a total handling capacity of 25 mtpa, with an overall investment of approximately Rs 33.93 billion. The terminal will provide Jindal Steel with dedicated, long-term port access to support its expanding domestic steelmaking capacity.
