K2 Infragen Limited has received a letter of acceptance worth Rs 1.58 billion from Konkan Railway Corporation Limited for the upgradation of railway electrification infrastructure across key sections of North Western Railway.
The project involves the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning required to upgrade the electric traction system from 1×25 kV to 2×25 kV. It covers the Luni-Samdari-Bhildi section in the Jodhpur division and the Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur section in the Jaipur division. Together, the project spans 403 route km and 497.65 track km. The upgradation is aimed at strengthening traction capacity to support a freight loading target of 3,000 million tonnes. The project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.
