Rail welding and track laying commences on corridor II under Kanpur Metro Rail Project

Rail welding and track laying works have commenced on the elevated stretch on the corridor II (Agriculture
University – Barra 8) under the Kanpur Metro Rail Project.
Further, track slab casting for the ballast-less track system is likely to commence soon. Safety features such
as derailment guards and the installation of the third rail for power supply will also be incorporated.
The Kanpur Metro Project involves development of 33 km long metro rail system in Uttar Pradesh at an
investment of Rs 110.76 billion.
