GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited commissioned Cargo Terminal 2 at Hyderabad International Airport on May 18, 2026.
The facility is spread across 16,864 sq. m, and is equipped with a capacity to handle around 50,000 metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) initially, with provisions for future expansion to double the capacity to 100,000 mtpa.
The facility features dedicated inbound and outbound cargo zones, large export and import processing areas, and multi-level racking systems designed to optimise storage efficiency. The terminal also includes expansive build-up and breakdown areas that will enable parallel shipment processing.
In addition, it houses a fully temperature-controlled pharma zone specifically designed for pharmaceutical and perishable cargo. The specialised section is equipped with advanced temperature cut-off systems and continuous monitoring technology to ensure product integrity throughout the handling process.
