The government of Delhi has officially adopted the Right of Way (RoW) Rules 2024, as outlined in the Telecommunications Act of 2023. As a result, the existing Delhi RoW Policy for both underground and over-ground infrastructure from 2023 will be rendered non-operational in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi.
This notification follows a letter from Neeraj Mittal, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), dated November 11, 2024, which stated that the RoW rules must be adhered to without requiring a formal adoption process. These rules are set to take effect from January 1, 2025.
Subsequently, the lieutenant governor of NCT Delhi has approved the utilisation of the central RoW portal.
