VA TECH WABAG, a leading water technology Indian multinational group, has won an order worth Rs 10 billion from Indosol Solar Private Limited. With this order, WABAG has embarked on its journey to provide water security to the solar PV sector.
This order includes the designing, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the 100 million litre per day (mld) desalination plant. It will be executed over a 38-month period, followed by a 15-year operations and maintenance (O&M) contract. To be built with state-of-the-art desalination technologies, the plant will be designed for producing water to meet the requirements of Indosol Solar’s 10 GW integrated solar PV manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh.
WABAG has constructed over 60 desalination plants across 17 countries, for various municipalities and industries, thereby significantly contributing to the cause of water security.
