Sterlite Power Transmission Limited (SPTL) has acquired Goa-Tanmar Transmission Project Limited for Rs 15 billion. Upon completion, the project is expected to transmit 400 kV of power in Goa and will scale up the transmission network for power evacuation from generation projects pooled at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The acquisition will enable Goa to absorb the projected additional demand of 1,200 MW by 2021-22. With this deal, SPTL has interstate transmission projects in 21 states across the country.
