IR plans redevelopment of 15 stations under PPP mode

Indian Railways (IR) has planned to redevelop 15 stations under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. These include Vijayawada, Coimbatore Junction, Chennai Central, Andheri, Avadi, Tambaram, KSR Bengaluru, Bhopal, Vadodara, Kalyan, Dadar, Anand Vihar, Pune, Delhi Junction, Hazrat Nizamuddin. Currently, these are at master planning or financial modelling stage except Vijayawada station which is under bidding.

  1. Redevelopment of Vijayawada Railway Station Project involves upgradation of the Vijayawada station in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It would receive an airport-like facelift including redevelopment of East and West side terminal buildings, a wider foot over bridge, multi-level car parking and revamping of all 10 platforms to handle 20,000 passengers at peak hour.
  2. Redevelopment of Coimbatore Junction Station Project involves major upgradation of the Coimbatore Junction station in the state of Tamil Nadu.
  3. Redevelopment of Chennai Central Railway Station Project involves major upgradation of the Chennai Central railway station in the state of Tamil Nadu.
  4. Redevelopment of Andheri Station Project involves upgradation of the Andheri railway station in the state of Maharashtra.
  5. Redevelopment of Avadi Railway Station Project involves major upgradation of the Avadi railway station in the state of Tamil Nadu.
  6. Redevelopment of Tambaram Railway Station Project involves major upgradation of Tambaram railway station in the state of Tamil Nadu at an estimated cost of Rs 10 billion.
  7. Redevelopment of KSR Bengaluru Station Project involves major upgradation of KSR Bengaluru railway station in the state of Karnataka.
  8. Redevelopment of Bhopal Railway Station Project involves major upgradation of Bhopal railway station in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
  9. Redevelopment of Vadodara Railway Station Project involves major upgradation of Vadodara railway station in the state of Gujarat.
  10. Redevelopment of Kalyan Station Project involves major upgradation of Kalyan railway station in the state of Maharashtra.
  11. Redevelopment of Dadar Station Project involves major upgradation of Dadar railway station in the state of Maharashtra.
  12. Redevelopment of Anand Vihar Railway Station Project involves major upgradation of Anand Vihar station in the state of Delhi.
  13. Redevelopment of Pune Railway Station Project involves major upgradation of Pune station in the state of Maharashtra at an investment of Rs 4.73 billion.
  14. Redevelopment of Delhi Junction Railway Station Project involves major upgradation of the Delhi Junction railway station in the state of New Delhi.
  15. Redevelopment of Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station Project involves major upgradation of the Hazrat Nizamuddin station in the state of New Delhi.
