Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) has received Letter of Award (LoA) for implementation of Palashbari-Sualkuchi Four Lane Extradosed PSC Bridge Project (Assam Bridge Project-II (ABP-II)).
Bids for the same were invited by the Public Works Department, Assam (PWD) in December 2023. The completion and maintenance period of the project is 48 months and 60 months respectively.
The project involves the construction of four lane extradosed PSC bridge over river Brahmaputra connecting Palashbari and Sualkuchi including Viaduct, Approaches and River Training works etc.
The project will have a 3.6 km long cable-stayed bridge portion along with a 5.61 km approach on Palashbari side and a 3 km approach on Sualkuchi side including wetland approach viaducts. The maximum span of the extra dosed cable-stayed portion will be 165 metres on EPC mode at an estimated cost of Rs 25.08 billion. The project is being funded by New Development bank (NDB)
