MNRE notifies National Wind-Solar Hybrid Policy

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has notified the National Wind-Solar Hybrid Policy which seeks to encourage new projects as well as the hybridisation of existing ones. The key objective of the policy is to provide a framework for the promotion of large grid-connected wind-solar photovoltaic (PV) hybrid systems for optimal and efficienct utilisation of transmission infrastructure and land, thereby achieving better grid stability. The policy provides for the procurement of power from a hybrid project through a transparent tariff-based bidding process and also mandates regulatory authorities to formulate the necessary standards and regulations for the same.
