Supreme Court upholds TRAI’s appeal against TDSAT’s 2018 order; directs telcos to share details of all segmented offers

The Supreme Court has upheld the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) appeal against a telecom tribunal order that had set aside a regulation requiring telecom operators to report all tariffs. As part of its verdict, the court has directed Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea to disclose all their segmented offers to TRAI. However, the apex court has directed TRAI to keep the details of such segmented offers confidential and ensure no disclosure of such information to a competitor or any other third party.
