Digital infrastructure company Lightstorm has announced it has secured a Rs 25 billion debt facility led by IndusInd Bank, alongside the launch of its artificial intelligence (AI) superhighway, a utility-grade, deep-trenched, high-capacity fibre network connecting India’s AI hubs with hyperscale centres in Singapore and Malaysia through the India-Southeast Asia (I-2SEA) subsea cable system.
The announcement comes as India emerges as one of the world’s most significant AI compute markets, with hyperscalers rapidly deploying data centres and graphics processing unit clusters across the country.
Lightstorm emphasised that the infrastructure connecting this compute capacity must match the scale and ambition of the investments being made.
