Hyderabad airport implements matrix system for arrival baggage

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Hyderabad) has implemented a matrix system to screen arrival baggage. The new system relays X-ray images of the baggage placed on any of the belts at the airport to customs officials in the matrix room, eliminating the need for them to be physically present at the belts. Acclaimed to be the first of its kind in the country, the matrix system has increased the degree of control of customs officials. It has also improved process efficiency and optimisation, thereby enhancing baggage throughput.
