Raajmarg InvIT plans Rs 70 billion institutional fundraise for highway acquisitions

Raajmarg Infra Investment Trust, sponsored by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), plans to raise around Rs 70 billion through an institutional unit sale to fund the acquisition of additional toll roads. SBI Capital Markets has been appointed as an adviser for the proposed fundraising, which remains at an early stage and is expected to be launched in a few months.

The proposed fundraise would exceed the trust’s Rs 60 billion initial public offering (IPO) in March 2026, which was subscribed 13.74 times. Its initial portfolio comprises five operational highway stretches spanning around 260 km across Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. NHAI also plans to provide the trust with around 1,500 km of additional highway assets over three to five years.
