Air India laid the foundation stone for its new multi-facility maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hangar at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on October 22, 2026. The facility is spread across nine acres, and is being developed to accommodate one widebody and one narrowbody aircraft simultaneously. The hangar will feature a clear height of 25 metres and large column-free spans to facilitate the maintenance of next-generation aircraft.
The upcoming facility is expected to strengthen Air India’s in-house maintenance capabilities, enhance fleet reliability and support the development of India’s aviation ecosystem.
