Oil India Limited (OIL) has announced the discovery of natural gas in the Discovered Small Field (DSF) block KG-DSF/GSKW/2018 in the Krishna-Godavari (KG) Basin shallow offshore water.
The Godavari – 1 well, drilled as an appraisal well, recorded the presence of hydrocarbon in a depth range of 2,024 – 2,027 metres. Production testing of the zone commenced on October 16, 2026, with natural gas flow achieved to the surface at a flow rate of around 100,000 standard cubic metres a day (scumd).
The discovery marks a notable step in OIL’s efforts for hydrocarbon discovery.
