Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) and Resonia Limited have each acquired a project-specific SPV related to interstate transmission projects from PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) under the tariff-based competitive bidding process. POWERGRID has acquired SPV Tumkur II RE Transmission Limited to implement “transmission system strengthening at Tumkur-II for integration of additional renewable energy potential (1.5 GW)” in Karnataka. The project involves augmentation of the upcoming Tumkur-II pooling station through the addition of six 400/220 kV, 1×500 MVA interconnecting transformers and construction of an approximately 100 km 400 kV double-circuit transmission line to the Madhugiri substation. Resonia has acquired Kurnool IV REZ Power Transmission Limited to implement “transmission system strengthening for Kurnool-IV REZ – Phase II (3 GW)”. The project involves augmentation of the Kurnool-IV pooling station in Andhra Pradesh and construction of a new 4×1500 MVA, 765/400 kV substation at Shadnagar in Telangana.
