The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the Ahmedabad (Sarkhej)-Dholera Semi High-Speed Rail Project in Gujarat at an estimated cost of Rs 206.67 billion on May 13, 2026. The project section will provide faster connectivity between Ahmedabad, Dholera SIR, upcoming Dholera Airport and Lothal National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC). Besides, the entire project is expected to be completed by 2030-31.
The project involves construction of a 134 km long semi high speed rail project from Ahmedabad (Sarkhej) to Dholera in Gujarat.
