The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) achieved a record cargo handling of 102 million tonnes (mt) in 2025-26, marking a significant milestone in its operational history. This includes 8.17 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs). Overall cargo in 2025-26 increased by 10.74 per cent, while container volumes grew by 11.94 per cent compared to 2024-25, when the port handled 92.11 mt and 7.30 million TEUs.
The growth was driven by robust performance across multiple terminals. Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals recorded the highest-ever throughput with strong double-digit growth, while Nhava Sheva Freeport Terminal also registered substantial gains. However, Nhava Sheva (India) Gateway Terminal reported a slight decline in volumes.
