As part of Union Budget 2026-27, the finance minister has announced a set of measures spanning higher customs duty reliefs, carbon capture support, transmission expansion for green corridors, public sector investments and the restructuring of non-banking financial institutions. For 2026-27, the Ministry of Power’s (MoP) budget allocation is Rs 299.97 billion (as against Rs 215.88 billion in 2025-26). For 2026-27, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s budget allocation is Rs 329.14 billion (as against Rs 265.49 billion in 2025-26).
