India and Japan are looking to deepen collaboration in the semiconductor and electronics sectors, with several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) expected to be signed during an ongoing business delegation visit, according to director general, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
Union minister of commerce and industry is leading India’s largest-ever business delegation to Japan, scheduled from August 24-27, 2026. The director general said advanced technology sectors, particularly semiconductors and electronics, offer significant scope for both countries to strengthen capabilities and broaden cooperation, with the partnership also expected to cover conventional industries.
The business mission comprises more than 200 delegates and has been organised to promote stronger commercial ties between the two countries. The delegation is scheduled to participate in at least 200 business-to-business meetings, alongside networking programmes and around 15 site visits.
