South Western Railway (SWR) has achieved freight loading of 47.5 million tonnes (mt) during the financial year (FY) 2025-26 (till February 2026), an increase of 17 per cent over the corresponding period of the last year. This includes loading of 19 mt of iron ore, 9.8 mt of steel, and 9.3 mt of coal. In February 2026, the zone achieved freight loading of 4.26 mt, which is 5.3 per cent higher than the same month last year.
The zone generated cumulative revenue of Rs 85.5 billion during FY 2025-26 (till February 2026), an increase of 14.31 per cent over the same period last year. This includes freight revenue of Rs 48.76 billion and passenger revenue of Rs 31.54 billion. Besides, in February 2026, SWR registered gross revenue of Rs 7.8 billion which includes freight revenue of Rs 4.15 billion and passenger revenue of Rs 3.07 billion.
