Construction work commences under Delhi Metro Project Phase VA

Construction work has commenced at Shivaji Stadium for the RK Ashram Marg – Indraprastha (Central Vista) corridor under Delhi Metro Project Phase VA.

The station will connect directly with the existing Shivaji Stadium Airport Express station through a 230-metre underground subway. A separate 800-metre subway fitted with travelators will link passengers to Rajiv Chowk, providing another interchange option within the metro network.

Phase VA comprises three corridors spanning 16.07 km and entails investment of Rs 120.14 billion. The project comprises 13 stations (10 underground and three elevated). The corridors are as follows: RK Asham Marg – Indraprashta corridor spanning 9.91 km and with stations at R.K Ashram Marg, Shivaji Stadium, Central Secretariat, Kartavya Bhawan, India Gate, War Memorial – High Court, Baroda House, Bharat Mandapam, and Indraprastha; Aerocity-Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal 1 corridor spanning 2.26 km and with station at Aerocity and Tughlakabad-Kalindi Kunj corridor spanning 3.9 km and with stations at Sarita Vihar Depot, Madanpur Khadar, and Kalindi Kunj.
