About 359 km of viaduct construction and 453 km of pier work has been completed under the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor Project till August 2026.
Besides, 215 km of Reinforced Concrete (RC) track bed, 297 km of noise barriers installation, erection of 9,000 overhead equipment (OHE) masts covering 200 km, 17 river bridges and 15 steel bridges have already been completed under the project.
The project involves the development of a 508.17 km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail (HSR) corridor in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat with an investment of Rs 1,080 billion. It is being implemented by a special purpose vehicle (SPV), named National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), incorporated by the Ministry of Railways (MoR) and the respective state governments of Maharashtra and Gujarat with an equity stake of 50:25:25 respectively.
