The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has successfully conducted a flight calibration of the instrument landing system (ILS) at Raipur Airport in Chhattisgarh on January 2, 2026. The calibration included upgrading ILS Runway 24 from Category I to Category II. This significant milestone enhances operational safety and strengthens flight reliability, particularly during low-visibility conditions such as fog and heavy rain. The upgrade will enable more precise aircraft landings, reduce weather-related disruptions and improve overall efficiency of airport operations.
