Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has installed 56 metres long, 450 tonnes steel span at the Bhandup-Sonapur junction under the Mumbai Metro Phase II Line 4 Project (Wadala-Ghatkopar-Teen Haat Naka (Thane)-Kasarwadavli). The two-girder steel structure was placed using nine high-capacity cranes, two multi-axle pullers, and more than 100 skilled personnel.
Overall, the project has achieved about 84.5 per cent progress.
The Line 4 of Mumbai Metro involves the development of a 32 km long metro network to connect Wadala-Ghatkopar-Teen Haat Naka (Thane)-Kasarwadavli in Maharashtra at an estimated cost of Rs 145.49 billion.
