Karnataka is set to take a significant step towards strengthening India’s semiconductor ecosystem, with the 200-acre Semiconductor Park at KWIN City near Bengaluru expected to become operational by December 2026.
The announcement was made by industries minister, highlighting the state’s efforts to attract high-value technology investments. The park is being developed as part of KWIN City (Knowledge, Wellbeing and Innovation City) and aims to create a dedicated ecosystem for chip manufacturing, packaging, testing and electronics production, supporting companies across the semiconductor value chain.
Over the past two years, Karnataka has approved investments worth Rs 230 billion in the semiconductor and advanced electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) sectors. These projects are expected to generate more than 3,500 high-skilled engineering jobs while helping integrate local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) into the global semiconductor supply chain.
