Maharashtra government commences trial runs under Mumbai Metro Phase II Line 4 and 4A Project

The government of Maharashtra has conducted trial runs on the 4.4 km Gaimukh-Vijay Garden stretch under the Mumbai Metro Phase II Line 4 Project (Wadala-Ghatkopar-Teen Haat Naka (Thane)-Kasarwadavli) and Mumbai Metro Phase II Line 4A Project (Kasarvadavali-Gaimukh) on September 22, 2025. The stations falling under the stretch are Gaimukh, Govaniwada, Kasarvadavali and Vijay Garden. Besides, the stretch is likely to be operational by December 2025.

The Line 4 of Mumbai Metro involves development of a 32 km long metro network to connect Wadala-Ghatkopar-Teen Haat Naka (Thane)-Kasarwadavli in Maharashtra at an estimated cost of Rs 145.49 billion. Meanwhile, the Line 4A involves development of a 2.7 km long metro network from Kasarvadavali to Gaimukh at an estimated cost of Rs 9.49 billion.
