CCEA grants approval for four projects in Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra

The CCEA approved three railway line projects in Assam and Uttar Pradesh on July 17, 2019. These are the New Bongaigaon-Agothri line doubling project, the Allahabad-Mughalsarai third rail line project and the Sahajanwa-Dohrighat new rail line project. The New Bongaigaon-Agothri project involves doubling of a 142.97 km rail line between New Bongaigaon and Agthori in Assam at an estimated cost of Rs 20.42 billion and is expected to be completed by 2022-23. In Uttar Pradesh, the CCEA has approved the development of a 150 km third railway line project between Allahabad and Mughalsarai at an estimated cost of Rs 26.49 billion and a 81.7 km railway line between Sahajanwa and Dohrighat at a cost of Rs 13.19 billion. The projects are expected to be completed by 2023-24. Further, the CCEA granted approval for the Vaibhavwadi-Kolhapur new railway line project on August 5, 2019. The project involves construction of a 107.76 km rail line between Vaibhavwadi and Kolhapur in Maharashtra at an estimated cost of Rs 34,385.1 million. It is expected to be completed by 2023-24.
