The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has sanctioned funds worth Rs 2 billion for the development of stormwater drainage (SWD) in uncovered areas of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The work is likely to commence in February 2025. The scope of work includes the development of a 50 km SWD network in Mylapore, Luz, Royapettah, Triplicane, Tondiarpet, Royapuram, Korukkupet and Perambur. In addition, funds worth Rs 250 million have been allocated for the North Chennai Development Scheme.
