Indian Railways plans to utilise nuclear energy for powering its network 

Indian Railways (IR) plans to utilise nuclear energy as a sustainable source to supply power across its network. The Ministry of Power (MoP) and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) have been approached by IR for the allocation of nuclear power to meet part of its traction power needs. Moreover, all existing and upcoming nuclear power plants are being explored for the same purpose.
