The Maharashtra government has officially launched the third phase of its State Road Improvement Project, with a total investment of Rs 127.68 billion. Funded partly by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the project will develop 1,480 km of cement concrete roads across 24 districts, including Vidarbha, Jalgaon, Dhule, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
The ADB is contributing Rs 41.50 billion, while the rest of the funding will come from the central government and state budget. In addition to improving road infrastructure, the project focuses on sustainability by planning to plant 0.3 million trees and implementing groundwater recharge systems to enhance water resources.
