The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has prepared a proposal for a scheme to connect 42 ports with two-lane national highways. The scheme aims to provide road connectivity to 42 ports by constructing 1,607 km of national highways. It will ensure that the distance between all ports and national highways is not more than 25 km. It is expected to entail an investment of Rs 5 trillion.
