Raghav Gupta: Managing Director, Jakson Infra Limited’

Raghav Gupta is a fourth-generation entrepreneur and is currently the managing director of Jakson Limited’s infrastructure business. Gupta began his career with an internship at the Cummins Group, a global leader in diesel and alternative fuel engines and generators. This experience equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of managing a large business, including aspects such as sourcing, execution, strategic decision-making and team leadership.

Gupta’s passion for driving positive change at the grassroots level led to the establishment of Jakson’s rooftop solar business. He also spearheaded an independent infrastructure vertical for the company, which has now become a leading player across various domains including rural electrification, substations, building electrification, metro rail electrification, water distribution infrastructure, and select civil projects such as hospitals and metro stations.

Gupta has a strong belief in India’s potential to achieve the ambitious target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel by 2030, and envisions Jakson playing a pivotal role in it. The company’s in-house solar module manufacturing capacity, rooftop solar solutions and status as a leading solar EPC player have positioned it well to contribute to the national goal. According to Gupta, “This is the most exciting time to develop on-ground infrastructure in India, considering the long-term growth potential of the country. The aspirations of young India for a Viksit Bharat, combined with the government’s aim to fast-track development, align with our vision to become a Rs 100 billion vertical in the next three to four years. Reliable and sustainable development will not only propel our country to elevate standards of living for all but also foster employment opportunities, the growth of related sectors and improve access to essential services.”

Despite his optimism, Gupta is wary of irrational market players who manipulate prices for short-term gains. However, with a substantial number of projects in the pipeline, he remains hopeful that there will be ample opportunities for each player to grow.

Gupta’s management style revolves around collaboration, adaptability and empowering his team. He cultivates an inclusive environment, valuing every team member’s ideas, promoting open communication and embracing diverse perspectives. He strives to develop a culture that thrives on resilience and innovation.

Gupta is an electrical and electronics engineer by training from Stony Brook University, New York. Outside of work, he likes to spend time with his family and explore new places.
