REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over five project-specific special purpose vehicles (SPVs), formed for interstate transmission system (ISTS) projects, through the tariff-based competitive bidding process. Powergrid, Indigrid 2 Limited and Indigrid 1 Limited (Consortium) and Apraava Energy Private Limited emerged as the successful bidders for the ISTS projects of the Ministry of Power (MoP). RECPDCL was the bid process coordinator. It issued letters of award (LoAs) to Avaada Energy Private Limited and Juniper Green Energy Private Limited for setting up 100 MW of wind power projects for the Damodar Valley Corporation. These LoAs have been issued under the MoP’s “Scheme for Flexibility in Generation and Scheduling of Thermal/Hydro Power Stations through Bundling with Renewable Energy and Storage Power”.
