On February 22, 2024, a 25-year long-term power purchase agreement was signed by CleanMax with Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) to generate and supply renewable energy from a 45.9 MW solar-wind captive power project under a special purpose vehicle Clean Max BIAL Renewable Energy Private Limited. The project is set in the CleanMax owned and operated solar-wind farm at Jagaluru, Karnataka, and would include 36 MW of solar power and 9.9 MW of wind power plants. Around 90 million units of estimated energy requirement annually is planned to be sourced from the plant. 58.3 million units of solar power and 31 million units of wind power are to be ensured by the project annually using the existing grid infrastructure. The agreement would aid the airport in meeting the renewable energy requirements for the expansion, cost savings and strengthen its sustainability and growth commitment.
