CMRL signs agreement with Almondz-Four Wall for extension of Chennai Metro

Chennai Metro Rail Corporation (CMRL) signed a contract agreement with the joint venture (JV) of Almondz Global Infra Consultant Limited and Four Walls Consultants Limited for conducting traffic study for extension of Chennai Metro from Madhavaram Mofussil Bus Terminus (MMBT) to Nallur Toll Plaza near Redhills on January 30, 2024. The scope of work involves preparation of traffic demand forecasting report for studying the feasibility of a 10 km long mass rapid transit system from MMBT to Nallur Toll Plaza near Redhills. It would include would include surveying vehicles on the stretch and other passenger traffic. The report is likely to be submitted by March 2024. MMBT will be linked to Corridor V of Chennai Metro through Madhavaram Bus Terminal Metro Station. Besides, construction work commenced on underground stations at Otteri, Pattalam and Perambur under Corridor III (Madhavaram Milk Colony to SIPCOT).
