Confirmation prediction tool developed for wait-listed rail tickets

A confirmation prediction tool has been developed to predict the probability of waitlisted tickets getting confirmed at the time of booking as well as during passenger name record (PNR) enquiry of the waitlisted ticket. The tool has been developed using a machine learning algorithm. Some of the features of this tool include predicting the probability of waitlist status for general quota passengers, taking into consideration the high waitlist scenario prevalent during holidays, and displays the previous year’s trend for confirmation of waitlisted tickets on the same route. Currently, this feature is integrated with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation website only.
