MoR grants approval for new railway line connecting Port Blair with Diglipur

The Ministry of Railways (MoR) has granted approval for the 240 km Port Blair-Diglipur new railway line project in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands at an estimated cost of Rs 24.14 billion. The project will be undertaken as a national project, financed through the internal resources of the MoR. However, the operational cost will be shared by the union territory administration and the MoR in a 50:50 ratio.
