State approves additional land for development of Bihta International Airport Project

The Government of Bihar (GoB) has granted its approval for 8.4 acres of additional land for the proposed terminal building for the Bihta International Airport project. Land acquisition is likely to be completed by May 2024. 126 acres of land has been acquired for the project out of which, 108 acres of land has been provided by the state for the construction of a civil enclave and other auxiliary structures. 18 acres is likely to be used for the development of amenities. An additional 191 acres of land is required for extension of the existing runway from 8,200 ft to 12,000 ft. The project involves development of Bihta airbase as an international airport in the state of Bihar. The project will be implemented by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The new terminal building is likely to cost Rs 6 billion.
